Quiet posting. This is just sad. He probably had so much hate thrown at him he decided to end his own life.

It's also conceivable he had other issues going on. Otherwise, why even consider such a poorly conceived plan just to try to protect his job? It's not usual to be admitted for a psych issue for a week at a time, ever. I also don't see any evidence of anyone hating, but I also wasn't looking.

Johnson is at Norwood Hospital for a psychological evaluation. He will be arrested immediately after his release. He is expected to be in the hospital for six to eight days.

He told them he fired his personal gun three times at his police vehicle. He then drove on Forest Road. He reported “blacking out” before driving his cruiser off the road. Johnson said the vehicle was on fire and filling with smoke. He said he left the vehicle and then fired his service weapon three times across the street. He also said he left the vehicle and then fired his service weapon three times across the street. The former part-time officer told investigators the truth was “incredibly embarrassing.”

“Something did go wrong,” Dwyer told WBZ-TV Friday. “I’m not sure, I’m not a professional, I can’t tell you exactly what’s gone wrong, but I know there’s something wrong. He was a good police officer. He was a good person. He was a good dispatcher.”

elsewhere its reported that this guy in his 20s was indicted on more charges last week and facing over 40 years in jail if convicted - double the time he has been alive. The DA throwing that at a guy with mental health issues seems worse than any "hate" a few people might throw at him. I really don't understand what the point is of piling on more charges stemming from a mental meltdown. Sure, reimburse taxpayers for the cruiser and manhunt, but long term incarceration won't serve to discourage people from having mental illness.
