Here's the jinx:

Shuttle buses replacing Red Line service between Alewife and Harvard Stations in both directions due to a power problem at Harvard Station. Please expect delays as buses are sent.

Shuttling the following stops:
Alewife
Davis
Porter
Harvard

All underground stations, so they can't blame the snow for this one. Just typical T decrepitude.

at North Station, I heard two announcements in a row:

First - There will be a delay in boarding of the 8:40 Anderson-Woburn train. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Second - MBTA Commuter Rail will be operating on a normal weekday schedule.

Couldn't help but note the irony in the juxtaposition of those announcements - and managed not to break out laughing.

They were quite adamant about the regular schedule bit.

Despite the delay to train 357, apparently all three Anderson local round trips operated. They can't get that to happen on most warm, dry days!

And they were making the same "normal schedule" announcements with the same level of urgency as with the morning announcements.

It's getting slick out.. I just walked from work to the bank. The snow flakes are getting bigger and heavily, plus they were very wet .

At least this is how it is in Boston

Yeah, I just went to grab lunch - made it maybe a block or two and turned around and went to a place next to my work.
