Is there such a thing as
Is there such a thing as being "decently attacked"?
Let's assume you really know the answer
But just in case, "indecent" assault obviously refers to a very specific kind of assault, violating those old Victorian definitions of "decency," and the term is still used because the law is nothing if not respectful of precedent.
Punch somebody, that's assault and battery. Grope them, that's indecent assault and battery. And write a check you know is bad, that's "uttering," which I throw in as another example of an old-timey word that still have meaning in the legal system.
I walk through this
I walk through this intersection a few times a week, and I'm surprised that something would happen here on a weekday morning. This is a pretty busy area during the day, with lots of people on foot to Stony Brook station or driving down Paul Gore from Centre to Lamartine. On top of that, I think the Nate Smith House has security cameras.
