Is the D line overseen by the Lorax?

Ben Ostrander reports that the MBTA isn't just tearing up tracks along the Riverside Line - it's also tearing up lots of trees.

... You can especially notice the difference at Resevoir (where we used to have a mini forest on the inbound side of the station) and at Brookline Village where a whole hill of trees was chopped down leaving a whole hill of stumps. I'm not sure if the MBTA is planning on expanding the the stations or if they just decided that they needed the space along the tracks to replace the tracks or what. What I do know if that what was once a rather beautiful ride downtown on a nice day is no longer so. Stumps are all over the place, with trunks fallen and shredded woodchips covering the ground. ...

Those trees also cut down on noise from the D line and Riverway traffic. I live in a building that abuts the tracks, and the difference is notable, and audible.

I didn't even think about that. I hope it isn't too unbearable for you!
