Last of the trolley buses to end runs in March

The Belmontonian reports the T is pulling its electric-powered trolley buses on the 73 line out of Harvard Square in March, to be replaced at first by diesel buses and then by battery-powered buses that need small diesel engines to supply heat on colder days.

Tyrell Sullivan, who drives a Route 73 bus between Harvard and Waverly squares, won the MBTA's annual bus "roadeo" on Sunday in Charlestown.

It's the second time that Sullivan, 29, of South Boston, has bested other T drivers through a course of cones and barrels. Sullivan, shown below, has driven a T bus for almost nine years.
