Boston Police report arresting Maria Buie, 26, of Roxbury on a charge of Assault and battery on a child for an incident at 23 Alpine St. in Roxbury on Jan. 31.

A 3-year-old was rushed to the hospital, where he died three days later. The boy's exact cause of death remains under investigation, police say.

Accompanied by her attorney, Buie turned herself in at the B-3 station around 10 a.m. today, police say.

Roxbury toddler rushed to hospital after trauma; homicide unit brought in just in case

UPDATE: He died.

A 3-year-old was rushed to the hospital after being found unconscious at 23 Alpine St. around 9:45 p.m., Boston EMS Incidents reports.

The homicide unit was called in as a precaution due to the child's critical condition. The house was sealed while police awaited a search warrant.
