Guns and bullets seized from man's SUV

Seized guns and ammo.

An Arkansas man was ordered held in lieu of $5,000 bail after he was arrested on Day Boulevard in South Boston early Sunday for driving around with a loaded gun under his leg, three other loaded guns and a total of 230 bullets, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.

WCVB reports US Rep. Steve Lynch, state Sen. Nick Collins, state Rep. David Biele and City Councilors Ed Flynn and Michael Flaherty have asked Transit Police to figure out how to prevent a repeat of last year's "Keep Boston Irish" display by area Nazis, on the assumption none of them live in Southie and took the T there.

A New York developer that paid $80 million for a slice of Gillette's land in South Boston in 2021 says it will soon file detailed plans for a new building there that will have both lab and retail space, or as it calls it, "a vibrant, inclusive mixed use project that integrates into and complements the Fort Point neighborhood." A consultant hired by the Boston Water and Sewer Commission is recommending a new barrier system where Boston Harbor meets Fort Point Channel, to keep rising sea levels and more intense storms from letting the ocean reclaim what was once South Bay - a large swath of Dorchester, South Boston and Roxbury. Boston Restaurant Talk reports chef Lydia Shire has signed a lease with BioMed Realty to open a new restaurant in its 13-story Seaport Science Center, 601 Congress St. In a press release, BioMed says:

Slated to open in 2024, this new concept will complement the venerable Scampo which Shire opened at the Liberty Hotel in 2008.

A Texas developer says it's working on a proposal to replace the current home of the Mass Bay Credit Union at 147 West 4th St. in South Boston with an 8-story life-sciences building, a 13-story residential building and a new 2-story home for the credit union. Read more.

CommonWealth takes a look at the MBTA's plan to buy most of Widett Circle, which nobody had heard of before the Olympic effort briefly made it famous, for what would essentially be a waiting area for commuter trains, doesn't make sense.

The MBTA had to stop the Red Line between Broadway and JFK/UMass this morning because of "a downed fence blocking the track area" near Andrew Square. And then there were the disabled trains it had to push/shove/somehow remove from the tracks on the Braintree branch.
