Maybe the same person who thought it would be a good idea to have Williams and Lisa Hughes anchor the news while standing outside in the station parking lot. Williams, being a man's man, of course, just stood there without a hat. They finally got him back inside, and by the looks of things just in time - his face was bright red.

"a totally clueless action by the media."

As has been well reported by several news outlets (and on this blog), a total travel ban is now currently in effect in Massachusetts. Yet, at least one of the local stations is continuing to broadcast traffic reports.

Until the roof caves in from the weight of all the snow and the power goes out, of course we're going to be watching the non-stop blizzard coverage on local channels tomorrow. To keep from getting bored, let's come up with rules for the drinking game. Here's a start at some rules; what are yours?

Whenever somebody mentions the Blizzard of '78, take a drink. When Harv mentions it, take two - he's the only one who got it right, remember?

A reporter makes a snowball. Take a drink. Follow with a quick shot if he/she throws it at the cameraperson.

A reporter sticks a ruler in the snow. Take a drink.

The Weather Channel's Jim Cantore is in town to watch Plum Island float into the Atlantic or something.

UPDATE: It appears to be working again; now to figure out why the vote box jumps from the right to the left when you vote ...

If you vote on a plus sign next to somebody's comment, your vote won't register. Looking into it; my apologies in the meantime.
