Beef over pickles in Quincy T stop ends with punch, shattered pickle jars, foot chase and arrest

Transit Police say a Quincy woman learned Saturday it's also against the law to assault people selling food inside MBTA stations

Transit Police report Tina Drouin, 49, of Quincy, grew upset around 2 p.m. when she ordered a steak and cheese sub at the Nathan's Famous stand in the Quincy Center Red Line stop, because the worker allegedly loaded up her steak and cheese sub with too much "shit," specifically, too many pickles.

Police say that when the worker refused to refund Drouin's money, Drouin punched the worker in the face, then "pushed two large very heavy jars filled with pickles and pickle juice into the sub maker knocking her to the floor and shattering the jars."

Drouin, police say, then ran out of the station. But the worker decided she wasn't going to put up with Drouin's alleged shit and so got up and ran after her. Police say the worker caught up with Drouin on Hancock Street near City Hall and held her until Transit and Quincy police arrived. Police had to summon an ambulance to transport Drouin to a local hospital after she complained of neck pain.

Transit Police report a quadruple bonus when they arrested John Monroe, 32, of Roxbury after he refused a request from an officer to stop holding open the doors of a Red Line train at Quincy Center last night:

Officers proceeded in Monroe's direction, while en route the train attendant announced via the intercom system several times "Please clear the doors". Monroe ignored these requests and continued to stand in between the doors preventing their closure. Officers approached Monroe to ascertain what his issue was and subsequently discovered Monroe had a total 4 outstanding warrants in existence for his arrest. The warrants issued from multiple courts were for several different charges.

Presumed brilliant until proven a dumbass.

Panhandler sought for attacking women who wouldn't give him money at Quincy T stop

MBTA Transit Police say they know who attacked two women at the Quincy Center T stop on Oct. 8 - now they have to find him.

The Herald reports he punched one woman in the nose hard enough to break it and hit the other. Police say the man was angered when they declined his offer to give him money around 10:50 p.m.

Police add:

Working in conjunction with the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office, Transit Police will continue the investigation and take appropriate steps to ensure the subject is held responsible for his actions.

MBTA catching more fare evaders, with bonus arrests of wanted criminals too cheap to add value to their CharlieCards

The MBTA reports Transit Police have issued 3,614 citations so far this year for fare evasion - up 59% from the 2,268 issued in the same period last year.

The T adds that some 89 of those people left the stations where they were snagged in the back seat of a cruiser, after officers realized they were wanted for arrestable offenses. The two latest were arrested yesterday at the Quincy Center stop on the Red Line - one of them a guy who'd allegedly skipped out on a court hearing after he was busted for selling marijuana at the same station in August.
