The Boston Licensing Board yesterday approved a new Dunkin' Donuts at 1621 Blue Hill Ave. in Mattapan Square, meaning purple-and-orange fans will no longer have to make the long trek up to Morton Street or American Legion Highway to get their morning Dunk's fix.

Possible good news for fans of old trolleys: The Dorchester Reporter reports MassDOT has included $9 million in a five-year capital plan for rehabbing the Mattapan High-Speed Line's PCC trolleys, rather than replacing them with buses or something.

An angry city licensing head today ordered the Chez Vous roller rink to work with police on a new security plan, after hearing details of a Feb. 12 incident in which a group of 14- and 15-year-old girls coming out of the rink threw bleach at another 14-year old girl during a melee on Blue Hill Avenue that left her with bleach in her eye. A Hyde Park man is charged with shooting a man over an argument he initially had nothing to do with inside the T-Mobile store on Blue Hill Avenue in Mattapan Square yesterday afternoon, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.

Boston Police report the man shot to death early Sunday at 227 River St. in Mattapan was Chaz Burton, 26, of Lynn.

A second man, found stabbed at the scene, is expected to recover. Read more.

Boston Police report one man was fatally shot and another was stabbed in an incident around 2:10 a.m. at 227 River St. in Mattapan.

Both victims were in their 20s, police say, adding the shooting victim was pronounced dead at the scene while the stabbing victim was taken to Carney Hospital and is expected to survive.

Boston firefighters responded around 9:40 a.m. to 10 Frontenac St. for a fire in a car in the auto-body shop there. The fire went to two alarms.

Police evacuated the Greater Boston Adult Day Health Center behind the garage on Livingstone Street; some of the seniors there took refuge in the nearby B-3 police station.
