Drawing from his experience in a previous pilfered cheese investigation, Queeg orders a vain "detective work" dragnet (including strip-searches of crew members) for a duplicate (non-existent) key to the refrigerator lock, and refuses to believe the real explanation that the messboys ate the strawberries (related to him by Ensign Harding but then covered up)
