The best thing she's ever eaten in Boston

Cissy Huang says it's the sausage roll by KO Catering and Pies, which she made the mistake of tucking into on the T:

I had to stop eating it midway as to not frighten the people on the T with my slavish devotion.

a pizzette from the Galleria Umberto. I named one of my bypass grafts after Ralph, the counterman.

Although I preferred the panzarotti. What could be bad about a deep-fried lump of mashed potatoes stuffed with cheese? Now that I'm exiled down here, I'm planning my trips to Boston around Umberto's business hours.

That sausage roll is extremely high quality, especially by the standards of the genre (think British Commonwealth soccer stadiums and street carts catering to Lansdowne Street drunks). A good sausage and fresh dough from a nearby bakery. Their food is excellent overall, including the meat pies: the beef stew pie is my favorite.

People who eat on the T are rude. No one would be frightened, nobody wants to see you eating your sausage pie in public.
