MBTA Transit Police report arresting an Abington man on charges he shattered a window on a Red Line train in a brawl that started on the train and spilled out onto the platform.
Justin Nee, 28, was arrested on a charge of malicious destruction of property over $250 following the 9 p.m. incident, according to a Transit Police report.
According to the report, witnesses picked out Nee:
Witness stated as she and her husband exited the car [in front of the one Nee was on], she observed a large fight spill from the train car, onto the platform. She said she observed a white male smash a train window after striking it with his fist. She then pointed at Nee and identified him as one of the combatants and the party who broke the train window. Her husband also identified Nee as the person who smashed out the train window.
Both Nee's group and the other group blamed the other for starting the fight; neither wanted to press charges, however, police said, adding Nee accepted full responsibility for the window.
