Hey, buddy, you stole a wading pool from the wrong house!

Seems 126 Lincoln St. in Newton was having a yard sale over the weekend, but some jerk who thought he was there actually stole a wading pool and air conditioner from 130 Lincoln. Keep the AC, those folks say, but bring back their kids' favorite wading pool:

To the person who took the air conditioner and the wading pool from the WRONG HOUSE!! The yard sale items were at 126 Lincoln NOT 130 Lincoln!!

Please, please return my children's pool! They are absolutely crushed.

You have curly hair, drive a light colored station wagon and spoke to my neighbor to see if our air conditioner works.

You loaded the wading pool on top of your car!

PLEASE keep the air conditioner, BUT RETURN THE POOL! That is my children's favorite item..

We know that you simply thought those were the items but they were not. You accidentally stole from innocent people..kids. Please return the pool and the Yellow Yard sale signs.

H/t A.P. Blake.

Why does the person who had their pool stolen have to replace her neighbor's yellow yard sale signs that somehow cost $100? Also, did your neighbor take any payment for the pool and/or AC? If their intention was to steal these items, I doubt they care about who owned them previously, and if they paid for them, your neighbor has some 'splainin' to do.

My guess is that the neighbor with the yard sale put out notice (maybe via craigslist/freecycle, or an actual sign) that the items remaining outside at the end of the yard sale were free for the taking. That however does not explain why the neighbor whose pool was stolen needs to replace the yellow yard sale signs.
