Mark Cuban's big-ass yacht visits Boston

Mark Cuban's yacht

Paul Nutting watched Mark Cuban's yacht steam through Boston Harbor today. The 288-foot Fountainhead, which probably isn't equipped with city-leveling armament, was built in 2011 in the Netherlands and is only the 55th largest yacht in the world.

It would have been great if mark cuban filled up that yacht with canned goods and a variety of foods and dock it somewhere on Boston's Long Wharf and hand out the food to the homeless in that area.

You could do the same without a boat.

Cut the guy some slack. I don't find him appealing, but I do admire what he has done with his brains and his drive. If someone offered you $1B for your computer program would you give it all away and go shack up in to old Burt's Bees guy's place? Doubtful.

Here is a link to his philanthropy efforts. It reads as more appealing and more useful than giving some junkie green beans.

While we are at it, have you ever seen a starving homeless person in Boston? I've seen a lot of drunk ones, but none that would get Bob Geldof calling Midge Ure to do something.

I assume your comment was in jest, but just in case: it won't fit. It's taller than the bridges and wider/longer than the locks. Even the Boston fire boat can't fit up the river at high tide!

Not just for highways anymore.

I was indeed jesting, Ryan.

Will it fit in the lock?

Doubt it!

Makes it a lot easier to "go Galt" without needing an island.

Except for that pesky refueling issue.

My friends and I saw this behemoth and wondered if it was chartered for company outings/proms/etc. I had a sinking feeling (see what I did there?) it was owned by some rich person. Thanks Adam... The more you know! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3CMsZYZ3_o

Well, using the generally accepted definitions (there are no formal ones) for "yacht", "superyacht", and "megayacht", this is a megayacht.
