Trump banners don't last long at Fenway

J. Alain Ferry reports from Fenway Park tonight that some Trumpies unfurled a Trump 2020 banner from the upper deck and that maybe 20 seconds later, some fans in the deck below ripped the thing down.

Here we go... Seriously, is it just impossible these days to go anywhere without having to deal with bullshit politics? Is escapism (like going to to a ball game) for the sake of escapism no longer a thing?

I donno, ask the @$$hole Trump supporters who brought the damn banner. Not exactly like people on the left are running around doing this at baseball games...

That wasn't my point. Politics is everywhere. There's no refuge from it.

2017 “Racism is as American as baseball” banner hung over the green moster. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/early-lead/wp/2017/09/13/racism-is-a...

See, I've been saying for years that racism is a partisan issue in politics now-- Republicans are racist, the left is anti-racist.

So glad to see someone back me up!

PS: Also, the GOP has become the party of historical revisionism & dishonesty, and this sign covers that, too. Good on you, anon! Thanks for pointing it out.

Isn't it doubtful they would have brought the banner if the Red Sox players hadn't injected politics into the White House visit?

Unless you are one of the bannerers, or have interviewed them, your speculations as to any events that may have prompted them to do it are just self-pleasuring. You should do that sort of thing in private.

the White Sox who completely disregarded their teammates' very valid reasons for not genuflecting at the feet of Orange Julius.

that was pretty political, wasn't it?

Looks like it obstructed the view of the folks in the first balcony, so I'm not surprised they ripped it down.

I wonder how they got the thing past security.

The people very possibly did not know what it said - only that it was in their faces and didn't belong there.

Why don't they use that banner at Major League Baseball stadiums in the most red states? Certainly they would go over well there! Oh darn. I forgot that the conservative states are poor, uneducated shit holes without major league teams. Instead they have roaming packs of toothless hicks attempting to hit an empty water bottle while wearing a Mexican made MAGA hat. Us wealthy, educated liberals sure have been "triggered" by this banner!

Might want to look at that map again.

I’ll let Texas slide , but AZ is not a southern state

though it certainly is along the southern border of the US. It is definitely conservative.

I didn't mention teams in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, because these states have swung back and forth.

13 of the 30 teams are in states that DJT won.

13 of 24 in states not named CA.

(You have to completely exclude Toronto)

I didn't do the numbers, but would have guessed it was even higher than that just based on a mental picture of the map.

Good thing those toothless hicks have a smart person like you to tell them what to do. There's nothing they like more than a coastal elite helping them with their decisions.

And I wonder how the smug, elitist communists in Boston/Mass are consistently ranked the most racist and intolerant people in the country. Just look at the achievement gap at BPS as a perfect example.

We need to find and ban them for life! Anyone who supports this man is a sexist racist misogynist pig. CNN, MSNBC and a whole host of unbiased/trustworthy sources told me so. I’ll start researching this important issue.

Try to give any examples of how he isn't misogynist and sexist. Once you openly admit to groping woman, there's no walking that back.

Try to give some examples of how he is. He was talking shit to his buddy trying to impress him... and was speaking about groupies more importantly... so his comment was in fact applicable.

Sorry that context is difficult for you.

It's a pig attitude, he's a pig, and so is anyone who acts as an apologist for him.

If you bothered with context and didn’t howl at the moon every time the orange man did or said something, you might reach different conclusions.

What was done to those "Trump supporters" who violated park rules by unfurling the banner? It was displayed just long enough for a grainy video to capture the millionaires in the luxury box tearing it down on cue. Were the banner people ejected, like the trio inspired by Black Lives Matter in the 2017 Green Monster incident? Or did they join the party in the luxury box? Who was in the luxury box? Who unfurled the banner? Where is the banner now? A little context and follow up by the local media would be nice instead of merely begging for the anti-Trump video on Twitter.

What an appropriate time for some reassuring "unplanned" Trump hate, real or engineered, at Fenway, the day after most of the team, the owner and his wife (Managing Director of the Boston Globe) offended the left by visiting the White House. Fenway and league rules strictly prohibit banners from being draped over the Monster or facade but these banners were somehow allowed inside and those with the message had no problem displaying them, even if just long enough to get the viral video out. In an age when the Vegas sniper is said to have considered Fenway, it is hard to believe that security (front office) didn't know about the banners and what was about to happen.

Where “everything is a false flag” gentlepeople like yourself can peddle in vile conspiracy theories.

Repeat after me: “orange man bad” “Russia” “foreign interference in our elections” “bigot” “xenophobe” “misogynist” “racist” “war on women” “tax cuts for billionaires” “stolen election” “tax returns”

I probably missed a bunch, but those were off the cuff. Feel free to add more at your leisure :-/

Well when your news comes from Fox and InfoWars and Breitbart, reality IS to the left.

And when your news comes from CNN, NY Times, Washington Post, Mother Jones, MSNBC, et all.... well, delusions are common.

Use some different sources once in a blue moon. Not the ones you mentioned either. Get out of the echo chamber.... you might be surprised.
