Boston's nude beach

A roving UHub correspondent reports spotting a man stripped down to his birthday suit at Malibu Beach, the better to soak in all the sun's rays as he lay on the sand completely dishabille and sunny side, um, front side, up.

Well, one pic and a short video, but didn't post them because some things are best left to the imagination (plus, they were taken from a distance so aren't the best shots).

Adjacent to Malibu beach built with long fences was known for nude bathing on the mens side of the bathhouse. A favorite spot for crooks and cops to play handball and take a stroll along the sandy beach without fear that anyone was wearing a wire to record their conversations.

But the Curley center isn't next to Malibu. M Street or even Carson, though ...

Hang out with an Australian surfer dude and you might get a different definition.

I'll defer to David Niven, Niven, after having a bit of a chuckle and maintaining a truly ungodly amount of composure as the orchestra plays on cue and then abruptly stops, tells the crowd: "Well, ladies and gentlemen, that was almost bound to happen... But isn't it fascinating to think that probably the only laugh that man will ever get in his life is by stripping off and showing his shortcomings?"

There might be something wrong with you when you first reaction upon spotting a nude beach goer is to turn it into a "news" story.

Commonplace in many (most?) parts of the world. Maybe reach outside your insulated, Puritanical bubble.

I always appreciate hearing from foreign visitors. Here in Boston, though, this is unusual.

But if you're so blase (oops, pardon my French for leaving out the accent mark) about it, why did you take the time to complain about our local mores?

Now we know.

You wouldn't be hiding behind "anon' and handing out unnecessary insults.

How do you catch a squirrel?

Pull down your pants and show him your nuts.

(an old favorite for Dot Cub Scouts to attempt to tell when Bozo was at WHDH 5 on Morrissey)

There was a post about this on Next Door over the past few days. It looks like the discussion was removed.

People are too uptight, and skinny dipping is fun.

(Relatedly, I recently learned that something like 75% of states allow women to go topless in public. MA, oddly enough, is one of the exceptions.)

It was hot and I was far enough away from folks in Crab Alley or on their boats to strip down to my skivvies or nothing at all and no one would likely have had good enough eyesight to see.
But I didn’t.
Though I’ve done this so many times in so many other places, some strange Puritanical hesitation stopped me. The Boston skyline was reminding me of where I was.

All of the observation decks in the city have been closed for years now, so there isn't a coin-op telescope in position to see you.
