Just a low chance of a brief tornado on Sunday, National Weather Service says

Heavy rain and flooding, though, are more likely, the NWS says. There's a flood watch posted for 2 a.m. through late night Sunday.

Massachusetts gets a decent amount of them. There was a tornado in Revere a few years ago that produced a very Boston moment

You are probably safe in whatever bunker you are in. You somehow missed the multiple tornado watches during the past several summers. In the "work from home" era we have had to "work from basement" at least once each summer.

I was in a statewide online meeting last summer where people peeled off to go to ground as a storm system ripped across the state - first the Berkshires, then the Pioneer Valley, Worcester County, etc. We rearranged the agenda to get reports from west to east.

There was a tornado that ripped through Revere not too many years ago, another in Concord, violent microbursts in Arlington and elsewhere near the city. This doesn't just happen in Great Barrington and Springfield.

Nobody was hurt and there was no damage aside from some downed trees, thank goodness. See https://www.spc.noaa.gov/exper/reports/?&all&date=20230716
