Old Green Line trolleys never die, they get shipped to Colorado
By adamg on Thu, 08/05/2010 - 10:55am
The T recently donated two old Boeing-Vertol trolleys to the TSA's Surface Transportation Security Training Center in Pueblo, CO, where the agency is now planning to build an entire mock subway station to train federal, state and local police on dealing with train-related emergencies.
MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo says the trolleys were shipped to Denver via rail - on flatbed cars, rather than under their own power.

Alert:
This Amtrak train is delayed due to a disable green line train. Wait... What?
Cool photo
Where is that from? Is that in CO or MA?
Somewhere near St. Louis on 7/14
Here's one of the cars in Denver four days later (both photos from the MBTA):
Can you give us the photo credit?
adamg, is the photo credit for the main post the same as the one in your comment?
Doesn't seem to be
It doesn't have anything attached to it, either as part of the uncropped image or as attached image info - Joe Pesaturo just e-mailed me the two. I can ask him if you like. Also let me know if you want the original, uncropped version of the first photo - it shows both trolleys on flatbeds.
I just wanted to pull on the string to see what else was there
adamg, thanks for the reply. I just wanted to follow the credit to the owner's site. There's usually other cool photos to be found. JP

Really? didn't we extend the GReen Line catenary lines to Denver during the Big Dig construction?
For $15 billion ...
We probably could have.
