And the phone number still works

If you dial the number (starting with 617) on the cab on this postcard from sometime between 1930 and 1945, you'll be connected to Town Taxi - which still uses the same basic logo, right down to the slanted Ts. One wonders, however, if they would honor the 30-cents offer.

Card location
I am wondering whether this is heading north on Park Drive, with a view across the Back Bay Fens to the back of the Museum of fine arts. Park Drive is now one way south coming from Boylston Street.
Yes and you always want to go with a cab company
that says on their website that the Four Seasons has locations in posh Waltham and Quincy!
Is Town Taxi (or Clown Taxi as we used to call it) now run by city editors from the Globe? Inquiring minds want to know!!!

The KE is for Kenmore??
The phone number is from 1948 or later
The postcard dates from 1948 or afterwards. Prior to 1948, Boston phone numbers were 3 letters + 4 digits, that is KEN 5000 -- with the KEN standing for KENmore. In 1948 the numbers were changed to 2 letters + 5 digits, KE 6-5000 [still KEnmore, of course]. Of course, for most exchanges you dialed the same thing either way.
A handful of exchanges did change the dialing pattern in 1948, in Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, Roxbury, and Watertown. And several other exchanges got changed in the '50s and early '60s. But the ones in downtown Boston, Back Bay, Brookline, Cambridge, and Somerville have remained the same.
Logan 7
Growing up in East Boston in the 60s, we had the exchange LO 7 for "Logan 7".

How do you keep your carpets clean? Call Andrew 8 - 8000 !
I remember that theme song
"How many cookies did Andrew eat?
Andrew ate 8000"
:-)
"If you dial the number...
"If you dial the number... sometime between 1930 and 1945" Hmm? Does this mean that if you dial the number in those fifteen minutes between 7:30 pm and 7:45pm you'll get a cab? Oh, wait, I think I read this wrong.... sorry."

I think you'd need a flux capacitor for that phone call! ;-)
