It was a very musical, mellow day in the neighborhood which really highlighted the diversity of JP. I heard celtic, reggae, rock, folk & bluegrass music; watched some salsa and tango dancing and attended a couple of plays. And that was just me cruising around on my bicycle. There was much I missed including, regrettably, Councilor Pressley singing " Somewhere over the rainbow"!
I learned after the first JP and a couple of Somerville versions to relax. You can't get it all (I have a story about hitting DisneyWorld with a young one), so it's OK to do a bunch of good music.
Mellow, fun, well-organized, pleasantly non-commercial, and the performers we heard were fantastic. Huge kudos to the organizers and the musicians and hosts--really JP at its finest.
