Alleged New Hampshire gun runner nabbed while strolling near his Boston hotel

State Police say a suspect in a New Hampshire stolen-gun ring was arrested after he left his Boston hotel to run an errand last night.

State Police did not specify the hotel, but said they arrested Kevin Paul, 36, at Albany Street and Melnea Cass Boulevard, which is a couple blocks from the Crosstown Hampton Inn.

Paul was wanted in New Hampshire on firearms, armed career criminal, and parole violation charges. Paul had been granted parole earlier this year in New Hampshire after serving time for his role as an accomplice in the 1997 murder of an Epsom, N.H., police officer. ...

The arrest was the culmination of a continued search of the Boston area for the suspect. MSP’s fugitive unit developed intelligence that Paul and a woman he was with were staying at a Boston hotel. Massachusetts Troopers set up surveillance on the hotel today and watched as Paul left on foot to run an errand. Troopers converged on him and took him into custody.

He's scheduled for arraignment today in Roxbury Municipal Court on a charge of being a fugitive from justice.

I take it you've never been approached by a family of foreign tourists at Logan asking "how much for a cab to Courtyard Boston Danvers Hotel?" and had to break the news to them.

Like a roundhouse kick to their hopes and dreams. Also probably not the worst idea to know karate when staying at that hotel, but that's neither here nor there.
