Apparently, the Blue Mass

Apparently, the Blue Mass site is the home of anti-casino kooks. The legislature has been blocking Indian gaming for years because they wouldn't be able to control it and put their relatives into jobs - the Indians are independent. If there's nothing in it for me, it's not happening. If you don't think so, go through the list of $70,000 per year toll takers on the Mass Pike. Say it out loud to yourself - seventy thousand dollars per year, with state health insurance and pension, to make change, just like a Wal-Mart cash register clerk.
The argument against casinos here in the Bay State:

The Bay State doesn't need another Mohegan Sun or Atlantic City. What the state should do is to work to bring back a lot of the "mom and pop" businesses to help create more jobs, not casinos.
Needs both

These aren't mutually exclusive. It needs casinos for easy hands-off revenue and extending its entertainment/tourism options. It needs small business to help with universal healthcare, innovation, and increased consumer options. It needs to simply okay the casinos. It needs to invest in small business. These two goals aren't mutually exclusive or even inhibitory of each other...unless you're talking about mom'n'pop casinos, but that would be an unholy abomination unto God, you bastard heathen.
