Police say man tapped on woman's car window in East Boston with a loaded gun early Sunday morning

Boston Police report arresting an East Boston man for an alleged gun incident around 3:45 a.m. on Sunday at Saratoga and Wordsworth streets in East Boston.

According to police, Reginald Abel, 48, tapped on the passenger-side window of the woman's car, then ran away.

Police say officers managed to catch up with him:

After a brief struggle, officers managed to retrieve the loaded firearm from Abel and placed him under arrest.

The loaded firearm was determined to be a Smith & Wesson SW9C, with one round in the chamber and three rounds in the magazine.

He was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, assault with a dangerous weapon and resisting arrest, police say.

Nobody sleeps around there. That's the same area that sets off fireworks from 11 PM to 5 AM around the 4th of July. I know, I live near there. Since they are up all night I assume they sleep in the daytime, but I can't swear to it.

It's just (expletive) terrible that this guy has reached the age of 48, and has found no better way to spend his time than to walk around carrying a firearm and accosting women in their cars.

Why do these reports often report the number of bullets in various parts of the gun? Are there different sentencing rules where the more bullets you have the longer the sentence? Just wondering.
