I'm not any kind of farmer, but a false bloom out of season doesn't seem like a healthy thing. I know that lilacs don't mind winter, but I wonder if this interruption in their preparations for it will make them more vulnerable. "Dread fifty above more tha fifty below", says an apple-farmer saying farewell to his orchard for the winter, in one of Robert Frost's poems. The poem's title is the farmer's valediction to his apple-trees: Goodbye and keep cold.
I think Saturday was the last warm day for the rest of the year.
The weather outlook from here on out.. we might crest 65 later this week. But most of this week its in the low to mid 50s all week, with overnight lows in the 30s. brrrrr
