MBTA Transit Police report a man spotted piggybacking another passenger through the fare gates at Central Square yesterday turned out to be wanted in Boston, Lynn, Malden and Cambridge on a variety of warrants.
The MBTA is starting a new courtesy campaign, via placards that urge people to be a kinder, gentler ridership. Will it work?
The campaign follows the T's no groping and no littering campaigns.
General Manager Jonathan Davis - a daily MBTA user - asked the T's Marketing Department to develop a new campaign to encourage courteous and polite behavior on trains and buses.
An electrical fire in a utility room at the station means no service on the B, C and D lines, Local 718 reports.
A Dunkin' Donuts franchisee goes before the Zoning Board of Appeals on Wednesday, Oct. 19, for permission to open an outlet in the station's food court. Currently, commuters have to walk all the way across Atlantic Avenue or struggle to make their way to Federal Street to get their fix.

A Roslindale man was pulled off a 23 bus and arrested on indecent assault and battery charges Friday after he allegedly moved his hand up the thigh of a woman sitting next to him.
Boston Police are looking for two men who held somebody up at knifepoint at the lower Ruggles busway and got away with a laptop, around 10:40 p.m.
Both suspects are black; one was wearing a dark jacket and a red plaid sweater, the other a Chicago White Sox cap. They were last seen running toward Melnea Cass Boulevard. A possible suspect was found at Kerr Place and Kerr Way; the laptop at Melnea Cass and Tremont not long after.
The Globe reports southbound delays on the Orange Line this afternoon were caused when a train had to be stopped and then taken out of service at Chinatown when a passenger kicked out a window.

The MBTA reports a woman was so intent on trying to light her cigarette at the Needham Center station last night she didn't notice how close she was to the tracks - and the train that was entering the station.
The woman, 44, a worker at the Center Cafe next to the platform, was taken to Beth Israel Hospital with a non-life-threatening head injury and a broken collarbone following the incident around 8:50 p.m.
