WBUR has the details on the plan to stop subway service at 2 a.m. instead of 2:30 and to eliminate several of the late-night bus routes.
Transit Police report they are looking for a woman they say spit on a 41 bus driver and hit him with something around 5:30 p.m. on April 1 near the intersection of Columbia Road and Annabel Street in Dorchester.
She's described as black, with red highlights in her hair, wearing a pink North Face jacket, black leggings and white sneakers. A Transit Police spokesman said the woman was not disputing a fare or anything like that, she was just being "aggressive."
Transit Police report arresting a Dorchester man on charges he began punching a woman he didn't know sitting next to him on an inbound Orange Line train yesterday afternoon - not long after he exposed himself to another woman.
Anthony Samuel, 25, was charged with assault and battery on an elderly person - the woman he punched in the head and chest was 63 - and open and gross lewdness.
The State House News Service reports interim T GM Frank DePaola told legislators he had to choose between making riders wait for a shuttle bus on a July night or a February night.
That MBTA report is finally out and basically concludes Charlie Baker and legislative leaders need to take over control of the authority through a new "Fiscal and Management Control Board" to replace the new MassDOT board Deval Patrick and legislative leaders set up to take over control of the authority.
The report calls for an end to restrictions on fare increases - in fact, it criticizes the T for offering pass holders higher discounts than other transit agencies in the US and England and says that's "unsustainable."

In today's installment of leaks from the impending T study, the Herald reports one complaint is that the authority is mostly siting on large sums of money designated for capital projects.
James Aloisi writes that, to start, it's based on incorrect data on how the T's fares as a percentage of costs stack up with other transit systems. But the real issue, he says, is that what was leaked was really just a trial balloon to see if T riders are a bunch of sheep who will meekly accept cuts with no promises of better service ever.
Transit Police report they are looking for this guy for an incident around 3:40 p.m. last Thursday on a trolley between Haymarket and Park Street.
He's described as white, in his 20s, 5'9" or 5'10" with a medium build. In addition to his Bruins hat, he wore white Apple ear buds.

Mother Nature just doesn't like trains, it seems. Keolis reports that yesterday's two-alarm fire in an Amtrak signaling vault at Forest Hills was caused by lightning.
And since Amtrak and commuter rail share the Northeastern Corridor, that meant problems for both rail systems - and will likely cause problems during tomorrow morning's inbound commute:

A federal appeals court this week upheld lower-court rulings that the MBTA can limit what it allows on ads on its buses and trains and in its stations.
The US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in Boston rejected claims by a right-wing pro-Israel group that if the T allowed ads referring to Palestinians as "refugees" it also had to allow ads referring to them as "savages."
The Boston Fire Department reports a fire that erupted in an electrical vault by the side of the Northeast Corridor tracks in Forest Hills around 6:44 a.m. went to two alarms as firefighters poured bottle after bottle of dry chemical extinguisher on it.
The fire halted commuter rail and Amtrak service along the nation's busiest passenger rail corridor. Orange Line service, briefly halted, has now resumed.
Firefighters responded to Back Bay station around 11 p.m. for what turned out to be a small trash fire on Track 7.
Meanwhile, Transit Police went in search of somebody spotted traipsing down the tracks around the same time.
Grace Holley shows us the cascade of water now pouring onto the Riverside Line from a burst water main on an overpass at Brookline Hills - just like the cascade of water that poured onto the Riverside Line from a bust water main on an overpass at Brookline Hills on March 17.
Needless to say, nobody on the Riverside Line is going anywhere fast. Or at all.
Transit Police report this guy stood next to somebody in a wheelchair on a Route 1 bus around 3 p.m. on March 23 as it approached Mass. Ave. and Sydney Street, grabbed stuff from the wheelchair, then ran out the door when the bus stopped.
WBZ reports he took the wheelchair user's purse, containing food stamps and cash.
He's described as Hispanic and about 5'4".
Transit Police report that an MBTA worker who tried to wake a sleeping Orange Line passenger after the train arrived at Forest Hills last night found herself under attack.
Police say Dion Stickter, 45, "struck the female employee with a closed fist multiple times about her torso area" during the attack around 9:40 p.m.
Responding officers found him no easier to deal with, police say:
He became hostile and began to use racial epithets and refused to comply with the officers requests.
Remember a couple years ago when the T put up all these signs in subway stations advising that snowstorms could mean limited service?
Next winter, the T will really mean it. WBUR reports the T will respond to major snow storms by running limited service during the day, rather than trying to run all its trains on a regular schedule, making all their snow-sensitive motors burn out, like it did this winter. The T is also planning to buy more snow clearing equipment and is considering coating third rails with anti-freeze.
Around 10:30 p.m. The robber put a knife to her back as she was on her phone, took the phone and fled. He's described as Hispanic, about 5'6" and 170 lbs with a chinstrap beard. He wore a black and yellow Bruins winter cap with a pom-pom on top, a white track suit and sneakers with pink laces. He may have fled on an inbound Orange Line train.
