Police say a man stabbed two people at the Wonderland Blue Line station around 9:30 p.m., then hopped on a Blue Line train. He only got as far as the next stop - Revere Beach - because police had the train stopped there until they could arrive to arrest him.
A bird met its demise this evening on the front of a speeding outbound Amtrak train just north of Hyde Park station. Around 8:50 a.m., an inbound Orange Line train pulled into State Street and there was a large "bang." Chuck Giroux photographed people rushing out of the station.

Transit Police report two people were stabbed around 12:45 p.m. on the Ashmont platform at Shawmut, in an incident that might have started as a dispute on an Orange Line train.

Just as rush hour was getting underway around 4:45 p.m., Alewife service on the Red Line was halted just in case the guy who held up the Eastern Bank branch in Central Square boarded a train. He apparently didn't, and service resumed, but not before creating all those residual delays.
Roving UHub photographer Jed Hresko spotted this guy doing crunches at Back Bay on the Orange Line this morning.
Let's see: There's a dead Red Line train at Park Street, a dead trolley somewhere on the inbound side of the D line and there are major delays for some no doubt good reason on the Fitchburg Line.

A mechanical problem on an outbound Orange Line train ended with smoke in the front car and passengers ordered to evacuate at Haymarket shortly before 5:15 p.m. - bringing service towards Oak Grove to a halt and firefighters racing to the station as fast as they could during rush-hour traffic.
