We get our marching orders from the media: We absolve Lester and continue to give Beckett the side eye

Both pitchers apologized yesterday for last September. Allan at Joy of Sox provides the round up to show that the media has decided whom we should pat on the head and murmur "there, there" to and who should be banished to that ratty old couch in the basement until he apologizes some more:

Was Beckett lying?!?! Of course, he's not saying that. He's just saying that they'll find out if Beckett was lying.

Boston Sports Media hasn't had the chance to run anyone out of town in the last few years. It looks like Beckett might be their new target.

Felger unbearable today

I just happened to be channel surfing this afternoon when I heard Felger bashing Beckett, then he segued into talking about some TV show (I believe on Cinemax) in which the female star is often "naked or wearing see-through shirts". He must have said naked about five times. Wasn't sure if it was a Beavis and Butthead radio show or if I was back in fourth grade.

still fat. unaccountable and no remorse. why should i shell out large amounts of money to watch this guy pitch knowing he doesnt care? i cannot wait for him and valentine to clash because it not if, its when.

Why Beckett and not Lester?

Lester and Beckett have done and said all of the same things this spring, and Beckett was the superior pitcher last year - more innings, lower ERA, fewer hits allowed, significantly fewer walks.. not to mention his 4-0 record and sub 2.00 ERA in five starts against the Yankees.

Beckett was not the problem. He was one of the better pitchers in the American League last year, and running him out of town serves no purpose other than to reaffirm to everyone around baseball that Sox fans have become petulant, unappreciative brats that you don't want to play in front of.

Get out of here with your ability to read stats forms and remember stuff for months at a time! We're trying to have a crucifixion over here. We can't stop in the middle and change the victim - that would make us look weak.
