Citizen complaint of the day: Stuck ducks at the Christian Science Center

A concerned citizen reports tonight:

Attention! Two ducks stranded across from Christian Science plaza There are two ducks taking shelter in the enclosed walk way. I don't know how long they've been there but I'm worried about their condition. I've called animal control but they aren't very helpful.

this is no laughing matter.

Because clearly it's impossible to be worried about more than one thing at a time.

On a day like today I'd have one of those space lasers from Diamonds Are Forever blast those ducks from 15,000 miles up and present the carcasses to the complainer.

Oh to have the joie de vie of Back Bay life that one needs to bother the city with migratory waterfowl issues.

Nice click bait Adam.

Isn't there a Boston Market (nee Boston Chicken) in this building?

The beauty of a high tech ticket system is that the person who entered the complaint service request isn't "bothering" anyone. The front line person spends 10 seconds looking at it and dispatches it to animal control's work queue; there, someone spends another 10 seconds looking at it and sees that it's not, say, a rabid 400 lb walrus rampaging on the 4th floor of Macy's, or any other animal emergency requiring immediate action, so it gets triaged into the "next time the animal control truck is in that neighborhood, take a look" bucket.

...as well as his nascent political ambitions. Despite his disclaimer, he's been dreaming of the day that HE WILL BE MAYOR and fully empowered to skewer "joie de vivre", insouciance, and all attitudes and lifestyles that he deems inappropriate. And you had to go and ruin it by pointing out that, gasp, every single request does not go directly to the Mayor. You're a big ol' meanie. I fully expect John to tell you to get off his lawn from now until the heat death of the universe or the resumption of normal service on the T, whichever comes first.

... I've been accused of being dull in that way....

Ewww. You mean having to ask people to vote for you and being nice? Having to go on TV and tell people its snowing? Having to take time to talk to Mel Smith lookalike Boris Johnson? Have people on UHub with meaningless screen names assume you are Clint Eastwood or M'Fing Charlie Bronson? Gross. I've have relatives who have been mayors of small cities. No thanks.

No, I want to be head of the T. There would have been service on the heavy rail and subway system today. February is the cruelest month, despite what T.S. Elliot said. It is already a short month for bills / rent / mortgage. You have three less working days to pay those bills and many, many people today and yesterday who earn lowly wages got screwed by the State. It is only a few dollars to some, but a lot to others. There will be a lot of increased financial trauma for those working poor when March's bills come due because very, very few have the foresight to think about preventative maintenance when extending commuter rail to the sweatpants cities on the Southcoast or to Manchester is much sexier.

You're right. Given your need for gratuitous insults, it would never work for you.
