New Yorker learns that even in bucolic Roslindale, you can't just leave the key in the ignition

When the New Yorker stopped into Triple Eatery on Cummins Highway tonight, he left the key in the ignition.

Surprise! The car was missing when he walked out with his food.

Fortunately for him, a BPD dispatcher issued a BOLO and officers soon spotted and stopped the car on Washington Street, just before Green, in Jamaica Plain. Driver and car were taken to E-5 in West Roxbury for a reunion.

You leave the keys in the ignition, your not a victim, your an idiot.

You're. You're welcome.

Does this comment accomplish anything, other than warn everyone that there's a pedant here?

We need to know how someone who knows and uses the word "pedant" correctly can't master the difference between your and you're.

You realize I'm not the OP who used "you're" incorrectly, right? I just thought the tone of the response had an unnecessary smugness.

If you want to take a jab, maybe don't make a mistake in comprehension in the same swing. Unless that's the joke...in that case, good job.

It's a lot more fun to read UH imagining that every post by "anon (not verified)" is the work of one wildly inconsistent and moody individual.

Sorry, I'm from Boston, born and bred:

Me too. Sorry to disappoint - you sound more like the wine critic, oversized glasses type than "intimidating." I'm sure you're a nice guy.

You don't know me. I don't know anything about wine. Also, the article is about intellectual intimidation. My glasses are small, about the size of Donald Rumsfeld's. Also, the intimidation thing was a joke.

To paraphrase another poster in the past, "you come to uhub and you apologize for being pedantic"?

Is NY one of those states that lets your insurance company refuse to cover your losses if you leave the key in the ignition?

If only they had stollen the triple eatery instead. What is the deal with that place? I didn't even think it was open anymore.

They are my go-to place for Chinese in the area, tough if I ever get to Seven Stars, that might change.

Interesting story of that place. Way back in the day it was a laundry. Then the owner, an Italian fellow named Nevio, took out the dry cleaning part and started making pizza. Eventually, the washing machines and dryers went out. Somehow, the pizza place ended up being run by a Chinese family, who are not the owners of Triple Eatery, but it was at that time that the change in cuisine was made.

Long Live Triple Eatery!

There are just as many Mass locals who leave their car running while they run in. When you let your car idle, the terrorists win.
