Police say South Boston man has butt issues

Transit Police report that when officers at Andrew station issued Matthew Earner, 28, a ticket for smoking a butt - under a "NO SMOKING" sign - at Andrew station yesterday morning, he quickly got his other butt in gear:

Earner became irate and was shouting profanities at the officers. Earner proceeded to the sidewalk, pulled his pants down, slightly bent forward and displayed his buttocks while shouting vulgarities. At this time there were several citizens in proximity to Earner to include pedestrians as well as vehicular.

Officers then got him to park his butt in a cruiser for a ride down to Transit Police booking on a charge of open and gross conduct.

Innocent, etc.

Drugs and mental illness are not an elixir of youth.

When did the AMA diagnose being an asshole as form of mental illness?

or just refuse to acknowledge reality, our streets are full of deinstitutionalized, or more likely untreated, mentally ill people. It is a huge stain on our society, and a damning condemnation of the status quo. They are OFTEN substance abusers. This guy may or may not fall into this category, but he's obviously not dealing with a full deck. He has serious mental illness, and/or personality disorder.

Sadly, yes, this is pretty typical of southie, though things are changing as new people move in.

Sorry to break it to you but things are getting worse not better. If you lived here long enough you would know that.

Things have pretty much changed. This guy is the exception now.

Gentrification started in the late 90s. We are now 15+ years into the cleanup.
