Boston Police report a teen spotted leaving the area where another teen was shot to death in the South End last night was arrested on gun charges.
Police emphasized the 16-year-old, not named because of his age, was not charged with Alex Sierra's murder. However:
A gold motor vehicle was seen leaving the area of the shooting. Officers promptly broadcast a description of the motor vehicle over the police radio. In short time, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) observed a vehicle fitting the description of the vehicle seen leaving the scene traveling along Annunciation Rd. Consequently, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) and stopped the car. As officers approached the vehicle, two of the occupants took off on foot. During the foot chase, officers located a firearm.
The teen was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Annunciation Road in Roxbury is home to the Mission Main and Alice Taylor housing projects, where teens have long feuded with their counterparts from Villa Victoria development in the South End, where Sierra grew up and right around the cornder from where he was murdered.
