Metro: The quicker picker-upper

Cones!

Some enterprising MBTA worker figured out he could use some stacks of Metros to sop up leaks on the Orange Line inbound platform at Haymarket. I took this photo today, but the leak wasn't due to today's downpours - the T has been using Metros for months now to sop up the same leak at the same location, probably because it's a lot cheaper than trying to fix the problem.

I, for one, am sick of seeing these constant half-assed attempts to stop what are serious leaks at Haymarket. It's embarrassing and an accident waiting to happen. At least put up some kind of blind to cover up the mess!

Same issue at Prudential charlie gates. Why not caulk it? They are just wasting paper.

Another concern of mine is Porter's never ending leak hidden behind the boards, bottom of the elevator. It's going on for over 5+ years, please investigate.

Then there is the (roof?) leak at Forest Hills -- that allows rain to fall onto the escalators leading to the Orange Line platform.

(I see the Haymarket leaks everyday too).

And what about the leaks at Aquarium and State? You can actually hear the water running down the walls and onto the floor at both stations. A homeless woman once told me that the Aquarium stop is going to fall into the ocean once, and I think that she might be right.

Gotta love the MBTA's creativity. What an innovative use of resources.

to prop open the new swinging doors at North Station too.

Tip To MBTA - They make special "shoes" to hold doors open - Just look at your doors at Boylston Station to see what I'm talking about.
