A spot of snow predicted
We raised the French Toast Alert to orange this morning after learning that the Weatherman of Doom, yes, Jim Cantore, was flying up to Boston and that the National Weather Service was getting all caps on the near-blizzard like conditions we could expect.
The NWS has issued a winter storm warning that starts at 4 a.m., Thursday and runs through 10 a.m. on Friday:
HEAVY SNOW/GUSTY WINDS WILL RESULT IN DANGEROUSLY LOW WIND CHILLS ALONG WITH CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. NEAR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE FOR A TIME THURSDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY FRIDAY...RESULTING IN WHITEOUT CONDITIONS. TRAVEL MAY BECOME IMPOSSIBLE.
WINDS...NORTHEAST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH.
So let's all praise Boston Public Schools for having had the foresight months ago to call school off tomorrow.
