MBTA prize not first roadeo for Route 73 driver
By adamg on Mon, 09/15/2014 - 9:53am
Tyrell Sullivan, who drives a Route 73 bus between Harvard and Waverly squares, won the MBTA's annual bus "roadeo" on Sunday in Charlestown.
It's the second time that Sullivan, 29, of South Boston, has bested other T drivers through a course of cones and barrels. Sullivan, shown below, has driven a T bus for almost nine years.

The Catenary King?
Do they split the division between diesel/gas and electric buses?

Trackless operators will also drive diesels. Note though that the 73 has been diesel for the past year and will be for another year because of road construction in Belmont that required the temporary removal of the wires.

Roadeo
It's a fun thing to witness. My wife and I did so a few years back. It's not highly publicized as a thing the public can attend, but it is open to anyone who wishes to view (or, at least, it was when we saw it.)
A female driver won it the year we we were there. I wish I knew her name. Is there a list of past winners available anywhere?

Working for the MBTA seems like a thankless job.
Nice to see the humanity of the drivers.
#1
I let them know they are number 1 in my book every time they cut me off, make a left hand turn from the center lane around traffic or completely block an intersection.
Thanks, anon!
This thread made it just over 6 hours without some predictable jerk-off comment such as yours.
BTW, nobody cares about your book.
Peace.
