It's always good to have a lifeboat, just in case

There was some flooding on the third floor of City Hall today - and workers knew to have a small boat on hand, just in case.

What's that flag
The white flag of surrender?
Is City Hall just giving up?
The elected officials or the building? Or both?
Somebody pushes the A.V. cart
and somebody walks in front waving the flag as a warning.
City Hall
That's just Brutal.
Ugh the constructionists
Ugh the constructionists around here. What I want is a concrete plan for cleaning up that mess.
Let's Hope....
They can form a plan for things to function again.
... cement.

A trap for union busting security robots!
Floor by Floor Directory of current Boston City Hall Offices...
Updated online Floor by Floor Directory of current Boston City Hall Offices... would be a good way to make the Boston City Hall building's maze more accessible for folks with limited vision, for hard of hearing folks, for ESL English Second Language folks, for all folks.
It's been said Boston City Clerk's spouse is hard of hearing and City Councilor Baker is hard of hearing.
Crowdsourced, an online Floor by Floor Directory could include Offices as well as each Floor's interesting current facets/art/photography and architectural peculiarities noted on a walk around a Floor!...
??
Have you been to City Hall recently? Every floor has a tv monitor/kiosk with floor plans showing each department's location visually and there is also a text version with department names and room numbers...
Don, please stop with this
As SteveE notes (and as I have told you in the past), each floor now has a directory on a large screen near the main elevators. If you're not happy with those screens, that's one thing, but otherwise, it sounds like you're complaining just to complain and haven't actually been to City Hall over the past year (during business hours, there are also designated guides standing just past the main security checkpoint just dying to help people find things).
What happened here?
I spent the day in Cambridge, not far away, and we had almost no rain. Certainly not enough rain to cause this. Was the weather that different on the south side of the Charles?
My money would be on a burst pipe
It was dry outside at the time there, too.
Leak from a bathroom. No
Leak from a bathroom. No word if it was toilet or sink but heard it was a pipe that was clogged finally let go
Menino always wanted a city
Menino always wanted a city hall on the waterfront. This is it.
