Were they protesting the current administration in Armenia, or the administration in Turkey? Or the new US administration policy?

Indeed, the two countries seem to be normalizing relations.

The rest of us will just have to wait until May 10th.

Oops, I probably just got in trouble with Pawtucket Pat again.

They just peck at your shoes and tires in and around Brookline! Even when they're seen in Watertown, they're NOT KILLING all the Armenians! Man, we have so many problems in this city, but turkeys killing Armenians is NOT one of them.

I know you're trying to be cute, but that's really not at all funny.

It would have worked better with the Gilda Radner tagline "Never Mind", but it was funny.

Some of those are pretty heavy... if they fell off the roof, maybe they could kill you.

I think you've got something there...maybe I was wrong before.

Are there many Armenians in Cincinnati?

"As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly."

And a little unrelated word play doesn't take away from appreciating the serious issues at hand.

We're all sensitive that there's some ethnic/international conflicts and tragedies -- even several generations ago -- that are off-limits for joking because the situations were too terrible and/or the jokes would be too hurtful to others.

I don't know about the Armenian situation.

But there's a difference between an off-color joke and a bit of word play regarding how the name of that country in English is also the name of an often-ridiculed bird.

I can imagine someone feeling that people are not aware of a tragedy or injustice, and when you finally start to grab people's attention, the first thing that happens is it's diverted with someone making a pun on the name of one of the parties involved.

(Just playing devil's advocate here because there seems to be an interest not represented; not that I myself was outraged.)
