Police say string of car breakins a reminder to West Roxbury residents: Lock your car doors at night already

District E-5 reports officers responding to a call from Sanborn Avenue around 2:10 a.m. on Nov. 12 that two or three guys were walking down the street opening up cars found:

A number of motor vehicles ... that had ajar doors, with their dome lights on. In several motor vehicles the glove compartments were opened and personal affects were strewn about. Officers observed no damages to any of the motor vehicle's door locks or windows.

In other words, a whole bunch of cars were just sitting there, unlocked. Police say they found some suspicious characters and placed them under arrest - and that West Roxbury residents need to finally break down and start locking their cars when they go in for the night.
