Truck is wedged in real good - and looks like it dented the bridge, which is not something you usually see in your more mundane storrowings involving box trucks. State Police advise:
Roosevelt Circle (Route 28 over Route 93) is closed. Avoid this area for the remainder of evening.

If you're going to storrow, do it in style with an 18-wheeler: WBZ has some video of the driver doing the Backup of Shame after losing the top of his trailer at Mass. Ave. One point deducted for not having tons of stuff to spill all over the road, though.

Schmitt spotted this storrowing aftermath being hauled down a Back Bay street today. What makes it a bit unusual is that it's an actual U-Haul - most recent storrowings have involved anything but U-Haul box trucks.

The folks at the Boston City Archives found an example of storrowing roughly 45 years before Storrow Drive was built: A cart driver who storrowed on trolley wires under the Washington Street el at Guild Street in Roxbury at 11:45 a.m. on May 12, 1906.

The Dig reports DCR is soliciting bids for a $75,000 contract to create new signs that are somehow bolder and more, um, impactful, than the current "CARS ONLY" signs in preventing reading-impaired truckers from getting on the river roads.

State Police report the driver of a tractor trailer who tried turning left at Bennington Street and Neptune Road under Rte. 1A learned to better read caution signs this morning, although his lesson "impacted traffic significantly in the area."

State Police report having to shut Rte. 128 southbound in Danvers this afternoon after the rear of a truck somehow smashed into the Endicott Street overpass, destroying the truck and sending the driver to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
MassDOT inspectors were called to the scene to make sure the overpass was not compromised by the crash.
