The Daily Free Press reports how the community is dealing with ne'er-do-wells in their midst.

A small group of Occupy Boston protesters marched from Dewey Square to Park Plaza Friday evening and held a brief sit-in in the lobby of the office building that houses the Israeli consulate.

The protesters, who chanted against "Israeli apartheid," did not actually get up to the consulate and were ushered out by police after about 15 minutes.

Sen. Brown, however, today denounced this "invasion of the Israeli consulate in Boston:"

It was shocking to hear the protestors chanting anti-Israel slogans in support of the terrorist-backed intifada uprising, which has created so much misery and death in Israel. There should be no mistaking which side America is on in the fight against terror, and I want to make it clear that I stand with Israel.

The actual exchange of drugs took place in the South End last night, after one of the three asked two undercover cops if they needed any crack, and when they said yes, he brought over a pal and they went for a walk, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Atu Austin, Lamont Daughtery and Thomas McLaughlin were arraigned today, the DA's office says.

Two people are due for arraignment today on charges they proved less than desirable residents of the Dewey Square tent city, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Matthew Douglas, 40, is charged with disorderly conduct for "allegedly challenging multiple members of the protest to fight him after being kicked out of the encampment," the DA's office reports.

Martina Martin, 41, faces arraignment on a charge of distribution of a Class C drug after she was allegedly observed selling prescription sedatives, the DA's office says, adding the two cases have nothing to do with each other.

Anytime there is a large enough crowd of people protesting long enough or in large enough numbers for the media to take more than a passing notice of, there is always pundits who criticize the protesters for not taking part in the electoral process.

It doesn’t matter that many who do protest also actually vote, nor does it manner that direct action can be more effective than the ballot box, there’s always a compulsion/borderline-addiction among those in the media to focus all of their coverage on what the protesters are doing wrong – which has been Fox 25 and the Boston Herald’s MO from the first day of Occupy Boston.

Bullshit aside, I figured it couldn’t hurt for the protesters who are registered Boston voters to know which At-Large City Council candidates are sympathetic to the cause and which ones are just half-assing a show of support because they’re too wimpy to come out against them.

Sean Ryan was the only candidate willing to offer any discussion on the campaign at Dewey Square, when directly contacted through email.

Intrepid Occupy Boston chronicler Chris Faraone notes the two-time council candidate showed up at the encampment's general assembly last night - where the main topic was how to winterize the place:

His beet red melon swaying back and forth, Bennett interrupted at least five times, saying nothing of consequence and making few friends in the process.

The Herald isn't one to take rejection by city health officials lightly. Today, it accuses hippies of stinking up South Station, because, as is well known, there were never unkempt people washing themselves in South Station restrooms or asking for money until before Occupy Boston started.

The Herald sic'ed roughly half its entire reporting staff (yes, six reporters) on the most urgent public-health crisis facing Boston today: Occupy Boston. The scrappy tabloid urgently warns us today that Dewey Square is a ticking time bomb of a fetid cesspool of disease-ridden, overripe hippies and vermin. The paper does, however, note the presence of hand sanitizer at the encampment.

A Boston Municipal Court judge released two people on personal recognizance today after prosecutors detailed how one of them was using an Occupy Boston tent to arrange drug deals at nearby South Station.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's office had asked for $25,000 bail for Isaac Bell of Roxbury because of a prior drug conviction, and $1,000 for Charlene Dumont of no particular address. Although Judge Michael Coyne freed the two pending their trials, he did warn them to stay away from the Occupy Boston encampment at Dewey Square - where Bell had lived for three weeks.

Just yesterday, City Council President Steve Murphy said BPD told him it was costing $2 million a month to watch over those scamps on Dewey Square. Channel 4, however, reports today that BPD has put the total cost of its supervision of Occupy Boston since Oct. 1 (the occupation began 9/30) at $146,189.55.
