Ferraris at a bus stop on Boylston Street

Alex C. captured two Lamborghinis and a Ferrari whose drivers figured the absolute best place on Boylston Street to stop and compare the size of their, um, wallets this afternoon would be the bus stop at Clarendon Street. He reports:

I told them they were in a bus stop right after they parked there, and they were like "whatever."

Boylston Street in Copley Square was shut around 5 p.m. as firefighters raced to the top of the eight-story 583 Boylston St. (the building with the New Balance store) for a roof fire. The fire extended to a shed on the roof before they knocked it down.

Patriots fans at 9 a.m. on Boylston Street

Luisa LaSalle shows us Boylston Street at 9 a.m., two hours before the start of the Patriots Duck Boat procession (which will start at the Pru, head down Boylston, turn left on Tremont and end at City Hall).

Crowds of Patriots fans - and college students - are on the Common, Newbury Street in the Back Bay, Boylston Street and Park Drive in the Fenway and by Faneuil Hall, celebrating the Super Bowl win. Police report they are loud but well mannered.

Police did have to get onto the train tracks by Ipswich and Charlesgate to escort a guy who tried running across the tracks, except he tripped.

Wanted for lipstick crime

Boston Police are looking for a woman they say stole $1,100 worth of lipstick from the Sephora store at 1325 Boylston St. on Jan. 11.

If BU and Northeastern have Green Line stops named for them, why not Emerson? Three students in a civic design and art class at Emerson have collected more than 700 names on an online petition urging the T to rename the Boylston stop as Emerson College. Read more.
