Hanover Street pizzeria gets OK to put some dough into expansion

The Zoning Board of Appeal yesterday approved plans by Locale, 352 Hanover St. in the North End, to double its size by moving into the space now used by a barber shop next door.

Locale's attorney, Jeff Drago, said the expansion to 1,300 square feet will let the restaurant expand its kitchen and add bar and high-top seating.

The expansion needed zoning-board approval because Locale is a "non-conforming" use and to allow for take-out from the new space.
