Troubled Allston intersection turns deadly once more

One man has died, and another could yet die, from knife wounds in a fight at Harvard and Brighton avenues early this morning that left three other men with less serious injuries, Boston Police report.

The dead man was in his early 20s and was pronounced at Brigham and Women's Hospital, police say.

If you steal somebody's laptop, try to make sure he doesn't have remote-control software installed

Because when you turn on the computer for the first time, he'll be able to get back into the laptop and watch your little brother and sister surf the Web - and even get a photo of you standing behind your brother as he mugs on the camera on the stolen computer. And he'll hand it all over to the cops so they can get court permission to get your physical address from your ISP.

Josh Bob's report on the dumber-than-bricks robber and siblings who have been using his laptops since the guy lifted it out of his car on Brookline Avenue on Tuesday is quite the tale. He has one video of the kid brother in a video chat, and another video that shows that kid with an older guy - possibly the thief - standing behind him (along with dear old mom).

Now he just has to sit on his hands and wait for Monday, when a Boston detective has promised he'll get all the paperwork he needs to take action. You can follow along on his Twitter feed.

Police: Guy comes out of Fenway bar with a beer and a gun

Both illegal for him to have, so police arrested David Wood, 20, of Dorchester on a raft of charges early this morning outside Who's On First, 19 Yawkey Way - including being an armed career criminal.

Two pals, Percy J. Palmer, 23, of Dorchester and Anthony Williams, 24, of Cambridge were charged with disorderly conduct after, police, say, they tried to interfere with Wood's arrest and to turn a large crowd against police.

Police: Woman with screwdriver 'secreted in her crotch area' charged with attempted armed robbery at Dorchester ATM

Boston Police report the arrest of an East Boston woman after officers on routine patrol spotted her punching a guy at an ATM at Dorchester Avenue and Adams Street around 12:30 this morning.

Police charge Erica Messina, 25, followed the guy into a Citizens Bank vestibule and, after he withdrew money to pay his rent:

Extras needed for protest against planned cut in state moviemaking credit

Craig Goedecke reports on a protest planned for this coming Wednesday at the State House against a bill that would reduce the amount of tax credits available for moviemakers in Massachusetts:
