Vermin in the ingredients shut Thai take-out place in Allston
UPDATE, 10/5: Inspection passed, gets OK to re-open.
A city health inspector yesterday shut S & I to Go, 168 Brighton Ave., for violations that included cockroaches in the restaurant's supply of sugar and evidence that rodents had gotten into its rice .
The rice container has been chewed and two bags of rice inside the plastic barrel are chewed. There are cockroaches in the bulk sugar container in the basement. There is a gross infestation of cockroaches and rodents at the establishment.
Also, chicken was being stored at room temperature and an employee hand sink was blocked, not that that would have mattered, the inspector noted, since employees proved they don't know how to properly wash their hands.
Employees are observed rinsing off their hands in the three comaprtment sink, they are not washing them correctly with soap and water or washing them in the correct sink. Properly train employees in handwashing and safe handling procedures.
The inspector noted S & I has a long record of violations and concluded it can re-open once the current problems are fixed and it brings on an "additional certified food manager to properly supervise the food safety at the establishment."

Uggggghhh
I just got food from this place on Saturday night. Fuuuuuuuuuck.
food
i will never eat Chinese food ever
Which is your choice, but ...
This was a Thai place.
Local convinience store in my
Local convinience store in my area has chunks of Rat shit on the potato chips rack. Right beside the lays, doritos, corn chips &cheese doodles bags, The rack sits on 4 giant glue traps, so obvious. But people still buy the bags of chips regardless of Rat shit or no Rat shit!
Are the bags open?
If not, then it's gross, but not as gross as vermin the ingredients at a restaurant. The actual chips are unlikely to be contaminated (although the outside of the bags might be).
Suggestions
Bangkok Bistro in Brighton Center if you want take out/delivery. Brown Sugar for sit down Thai food. Lets just hope nobody can dig up any dirt about those places because then I have no idea where to get Thai food anymore.
Brown Sugar
Brown Sugar does deliver and they will take credit cards via phone even though their website says they don't.
Rod Dee and Dok Bua are also
Rod Dee and Dok Bua are also good (and hopefully cockroach free) options for Thai food in the area.
Other suggestions
Thai North in Oak Square is pretty good. And not much further than Bangkok Bistro if you're already going down Cambridge from S&I. But closer to S&I would be Dok Bua and you can't top Dok Bua in the area for Thai takeout. Also, the Thai place in the 88 isn't bad (isn't great either).

Search at your own peril at realizing that eating out is frequently like a game of roulette.
So if I order something
With all the ingredients, would that be a Vermin Supreme?
I'll see myself out.
Damn,
you beat me to the Vermin Supreme joke!
How 'bout a nice order of....
...VERMIN-CELLI
So?
