Orange Line sign struggles to tell riders something, but what?
By adamg on Wed, 07/25/2018 - 10:35pm
Jed Hresko captured this sign at Jackson Square this evening. Was it frustrated at all the attention area highway signs are getting, but just couldn't sum it all up in 40 characters?

My favorite is when the
My favorite is when the conductor makes a garbled announcement that clearly ends with "Thank you for riding the T"
I see the problem: your travel arrangements
will get you on a train to Frst Hills in 8 minutes, but the sign isn't big enough to footnote the Nota Bene, which is maybe about how awesome the burger at Brassica Kitchen is.
wut
Never having heard of the place, I Googled it. The first user question made me want to ask a few more.
Honest Advice Is Always Best...
"Please plan your travel derangements accordingly."
You can't handle the (T)ruth
T-Management is aware of the problem but after a careful and time consuming study decided that confusing and puzzling messages are more effective than telling the truth to the public.
poor use of space
I see the first line has so much to say that some of the letters are forced to double-bunk, while the second leaves lots of empty space after shortening Forest to Frst.
It's like Covfefe...
But for weary travelers...
Today, I was again treated to my favorite example
of the T's perverse logic. At North Station Green Line westbound, the countdown clock read "C 1 stop away E 3 stops away". So what train shows up first? The E, naturally.
And people wonder why tourists get easily confused around here.
How about the Silver Line at Logan
The Logan signs typically state that the Silver Line is arriving in 1 min. It actually arrives in 10 mins. Then you typically get stuck in traffic somewhere between Logan and the Seaport, drive past the WTC Silver Line station, cut power in the Seaport and hope to g the bus starts up again, drive through the WTC Silver Line Station, hope to g the bus doesn't die in the tunnel, and then arrive at South Station. This is the worst "Welcome to Our City" airport transit link I have ever experienced (150+ airport ventures and counting)
