Everett's Wikipedia page reads, "The median income for a household in the city was $49,737. The median income for a family is $49,876. Males had a median income of $36,047 versus $30,764 for females. The per capita income for the city was $23,876. About 9.2% of families and 11.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 16.9% of those under age 18 and 10.0% of those age 65 or over."

By all means, keep encroaching on working-class cities of color, though. I'm sure the "affordable housing units" included in this monstrosity will expect plenty of savings on restricted incomes in order to qualify.

How many low-income residents will be directly displaced by this building?

None.

Would you prefer it remain a scrap yard? Is keeping unpleasant businesses near low-income neighborhoods so prices remain low because of the unpleasantness really the best way to provide a good standard of living for poor people?

Also thats not a great place for a building like that... I mean the view would be nice but the surroundings.

This is not near *any* public transit that I can see. Across the street from Encore would be a little better.

I’ve never eaten at one of his establishments, but I get the impression it’s sorta like an “extras” reunion from the filming of Goodfellas or The Sopranos.

I’m hard pressed to figure out what restaurant investment group looked at his operations and said “now here’s a great concept we can replicate in other places, let’s buy him out”

I was once in the North End Strega for a drink and found one wall that continuously played scenes from Mafia movies. I share his heritage and am not particularly PC, but find it repulsive that one of our own participates in keeping this stereotype alive.

Could be a great idea , 2nd ave in Chelsea/ Everett line has this enormous parcel of land next to where this proposed tower will be, could pave the way for more 21 story residential buildings, Plus you have numerous turn of the century brick factory buildings around that area on side streets on Chelsea side , the proposed tower could be a model for future redevelopment for that area. For those people who have been priced out of East Boston and Charlestown they have an option to live in the Everett/ Chelsea line probably for the fraction of the cost.
