Birds are so smart and so fun
Birds are so smart and so fun to choose which are our favorite. I know the most flamboyant which wear high couture may not be in our urban parks and woods like in more exotic and wild parts of the world, but I can't get enough of observing the high intelligence and behaviors of the Blue Jay and Crow.
I saw a pheasant in Franklin
I saw a pheasant in Franklin Park near the pond once. Very fancy.

I see crows every day. I live in Cambridge, but I'm sure they travel south of the river occasionally. Crows aren't particular.

There are plenty of crows here in Needham. Occasionally there is a variety of crow that quacks instead of caws.
Loons in Boston?
I had no idea there were any of those in the city (other than a few of the human variety).

that is pretty surprising. Loons are pretty shy about human crowds. That’s an immature loon, though. Probably getting into trouble in the big city. He’s going to be in so much trouble if his parents see that picture.
