And proves really don't like running the Green Line at normal service levels.
This is what was stated on the MBTA web page regarding Green Line service today:

The Green line will operate two car trains every eight minutes throughout the day.
Unfortunately, the reality is somewhat different. Got to North Station about 8:30 and waited 15 minutes, not 8, for a single-car (not two-car) E train that was seriously overcrowded.
Between North Station and Boylston, I observed five other in-service trains. All of them were single cars as well, so it wasn't that there was a mechanical problem with this particular train that caused them to break it in half.
