That Bolt. Had wondered where it struck ground. I was on Highland between Central and Lowell, and saw this amazing current // to the ground branching off. I'd never seen anything like that before - it was a pink / peach color. Glad that the folks are okay. Hoping that there's minimal damage.
Did you hear it hit?
Living near some woods, I have learned to listen for an unmistakable explody BANG exploding noise when the bolts hit something - like a tree, like my neighbor's house, etc.
We have gone into the woods to find trees burning from the inside.
Interesting question.
I am partly deaf, so have difficulty sometimes remarking sound positions (rely on vision and vibration). I do know, though, that a spectacular something was running // to the ground and branching off. I've never seen that color before, though, in lightning.

Kinda makes me want a lightning rod
This is the second house within sight of me that has been struck by lightning (and caught fire) in the 20 years I've lived in this house.
