Boston city councilors today condemned what they call an abuse by the state-owned Reggie Lewis Center at Roxbury Crossing: Boston student athletes have to clear out by 3:30 p.m. so busloads of students from well-off suburbs can use its state-of-the-art facilities for training and not get home too late. The Boston City Council voted 10-2-1 today to formally oppose BPS's plans to move the O'Bryant School from its current location on Malcolm X Boulevard in Roxbury to a rebuilt West Roxbury Education Complex on VFW Parkway, saying that location, almost in Dedham, is just too far way for many students and that BPS has failed to really take into account the concerns of O'Bryant students, parents and teachers, let alone possible alternatives. Josh Kraft, of the New England Patriots Krafts, is suddenly being touted as as possible candidate for Boston mayor in 2025, because, well, why not? CommonWealth Beacon reports he already has a bunch of ties to Boston, including a long turn as president of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston. He's a past Charlie Baker donor and gave money to several council candidates supported by Trump backer and New Balance Chairman Jim Davis, who doesn't like the incumbent.

Space saver in Roslindale

Mayor Wu today announced the city will continue its 48-hour post-storm grace period for saving parking spaces for the coming winter, except in the South End and Bay Village, where space saving is never allowed. Read more.

City results show incumbent at-large Councilors Ruthzee Louijeune and Julia Mejia easily winning re-election - along with more conservative incumbent Erin Murphy - with whom Louijeune is battling for the honorary top spot on the ballot. Read more.

Today's the last day for voting for district and at-large city councilors. Boston's made changes in a number of polling locations this year. The state has a page for finding where you vote today. The city has a similar page for seeing which council district you're in. Polls are open until 8 p.m. If you have a mail-in ballot, you can place it in a city dropbox until 8 p.m.

Hey, remember back in the day when the Green Line kept having embarrassing pantograph problems, and the T said in one case it was because the line was too new and in other cases it was because the lines were too old? And then the T promised it was doing stuff to fix the problems?

Yeah, good times. The T reports it's running shuttle buses instead of trolleys along the C and D lines because of a new pantograph problem at Kenmore Square.

At-large candidate Bridget Nee-Walsh made the comments at a forum organized by Boston Caribbean-Americans - drawing a rebuke from incumbent at-large Councilor Ruthzee Louijeune, who is herself Haitian-American.
